Okay, I get to nag on my favorite subject. How ready (and willing) are you to facilitate the unusual? Can you step out of your little box of fund-raising norms and say to a donor, “Go for it with our blessings! How can we help you?”
Thanks to Donttellthedonor for pointing me to this unusual story. You see, Jay was doing something he loved. But he chose to do it for the benefit of two charities that have a special place in his heart. I am not sure what help they may have given to him, or if they even knew about it ahead of time. But if they did, then they knew enough to step out of their comfort zone and allow Jay to accomplish something good.
There are tools out there to help people raise awareness (and money) about your cause. Look at sites such as FirstGiving which allow your constituency to influence their circle of friends to act.
Way to go Jay!
