Random Thoughts was created as a way of putting on “paper” some of the research that I am finding during the course of my work.
I started working with non-profits 27 years ago. Since then I have had various opportunities to impact processes, structures, and technologies. My MBA in Organizational Development was surprisingly granted by the University of Colorado. I also graduated from the National Planned Giving Institute at the College of William and Mary and have received the Chartered Financial Consultant certification. I love studying organizational dynamics and recently completed an advanced course in Organizational Analysis from Stanford University.
Early postings had to do with interaction web based development and other creative fund-raising strategies. I occasionally post on other subjects such as non-profit leadership, management, and marketing. And occasionally, a completely random post about something that strikes me as amusing or interesting (and sometimes just plain frustrating). I wish I had time to post more frequently but unfortunately there are other demands on my time.
I have two wonderful daughters and a wife that keeps me organized. In my spare time I have been a board member for a non-profit association, a part-time/novice webmaster, a baker of bread and bagels, a soccer referee, and a rookie triathlete.
